CamPain Webinar on Footsteps 2021

Rachel, Mark and Santo presented a webinar about our group, its origins and journey, our experiences, our thoughts about peer support and its value based on what we've learnt. The webinar was very well attended, 26 on the night and many more expected viewings on video (which is considered very good by the festival organisers). The meeting was widely trailed on Twitter, with a lot of interest and support from senior healthcare professionals, including Andy Bennett, National MSK Clinical Director. There was a lot of positive feedback about the event afterwards. To see the material covered in the talk, go to our 'About' section on this website and see the sections on Our Journey, Member and Ally Testimonies. Also under Resources see 'Running a Pain Support Group" for our experiences and reflections.

We’ve managed to adapt and grow, developing new ways of keeping in touch with Zoom and WhatsApp. Plus we’ve extended our activities into pain advocacy, with our submission to NICE about their pain treatment guidelines. Big thanks to everyone who has contributed and been involved along the way, whether as organisers or supportive members of the network. The biggest tribute to our success is the fact that we have become a genuine community which cares for and helps each other in our daily trial with living with pain. It’s living proof that peer-to-peer support works. Well done all of us!
